Alien Arena
is a free online FPS game for Windows and Linux PC’s, developed by Red Planet Arena.
Alien Arena 2011 is the
latest version of the freeware online deathmatch
game , featuring
visually enhanced graphics and system overhaul for more
enjoyable gaming experience. The goal of the game is to create a cross
between Quake and Unreal Tournament, retro Sci-Fi and futuristic
technology that can be played both casual and advance gamers and could
rival other commercial games.
The game weapons feature unique contraptions, and deviate from commonly
used standard SciFi game weaponry. The game can also be altered easily
in the menu by choosing between various battle types, such as Death
Match, Team Core Assault, All out Assault, capture the Flag Duel and
Cattle Prod. Players can also apply a number of mutators as well as
creating some pretty interesting scenarios.
Alien Arena utilizes
CRX engine, which is based on the
ID GPL source
code . It also includes modern Effects such as
real time per pixel
lighting and
soft shadows, rag doll physics , lenflares, light blooms
textured particles, decals, 32-bit color, shaders and much more.
