Heroes of Newerth
is a fantasy, action real-time strategy game
set in the fictional universe of Newerth, where the
Legion and the
Hellbourne battle with each other for honor and territory. The game is
heavily inspired by the Warcraft III: the Frozen Throne custom map,
Defense of the Ancients or commonly referred to as DotA.
Heroes of Newerth
clashes two teams of players to fight each other: the Legion and the Hellbourne .
Both teams are based at opposite sides of the Map which is split into
three continues lanes, running from one base to the other. Defensive
towers are positioned evenly through each lane until the lanes terminate
at a team’s base. Bases are strongly defended with extra defensive
towers as well as spawned creatures called creeps and run along their
lane until they meet and then attack.
Victory is achieved when
one of the teams manages to push into the base of opposing team and
destroys their primary structure; the Hellbourne’s Sacrificial Shrine or
the Legion’s Tree of Life.
Players on each team can choose one of the 76 different heroes ,
each with various abilities and advantages to form an overall strategy.
Each hero has 4 different abilities which can be learned as the hero
gains experiences required per level. Also, each hero can also equip
different items to augment their default statistics.
Heroes of Newerth Client is free and can be downloaded anytime on the HON main website. Before you can play HON,
you will need to have a player account . The HON account costs US $30.00, which is a one time fee for a lifetime usage with no monthly or hidden surcharges.
Heroes of Newerth is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
